HiFi 3+

This brand spankin’ new silly Taycan Turbo GT came to us for an audio refresh. Our goal was to create an efficient audio system while not making any modifications. The only space that is usable in this vehicle comes down to the rear storage center in the trunk. The factory subwoofer enclosure resides and and is actually pretty big. We had to remove the enclosure and design a space to house a single Focal 10″ Utopia M Subwoofer, Helix V Twelve DSP amplifier and a Helix P-One.
The panels in the rear trunk were all removed and a combination of Hushmat and Soundshield acoustic treatment were applied to the vehicles metal.
For the front stage, we used the Focal P60 kit made specifically for the Porsche. These are speakers that are made to perfectly mount into the OEM locations. It consists of a set of midbass and midrange that both mount into the OE doorpanel and a set of tweeters that mount in the dash. A combination of Hushmat and Soundshield were used to sound treat the door panels and inner and outer doorskin.

A Helix Conductor was used as the interface for the DSP. A custom housing was designed and 3d printed to integrate the controller into the vehicles interior for a factory look.
We used three presets in total. Preset 1 integrates into the OEM radio using a NavTV amplifier interface. This gives us a perfect signal (digital) output that connects into our DSP amplifier. Preset 2 uses the Helix HEC BT for a better source connection between our phone and the DSP. Preset 3 uses an analog input from an Astell & Kern SP3000 DAP.
To protect the client from the boys in blue, we outfitted this rocket ship with a combination of AL Priority laser defense and Escort Redline Cic Radar defense.
The front of the vehicle consists of 4 laser sensors and one radar receiver. Custom pods were designed and 3d printed to stealthly house a single RX and TX sensor per side. We utilized 3 rear laser sensors and one single radar receiver. A stealth center pod was made to house the TX sensor above the rear license plate. We created stealth mounts where the rear red reflectors were to mount the dual RX sensors. These pods were then skinned in IR acrylic to conceal the sensors where the reflectors were.
A stealth display pod was made and mounted into the dash to conceal the Escort display and ALP LED.

The system was completely bullet proof against Stalker XLR, DragonEye Compact and DragonEye Full size.
