This brand spankin’ new electric Corvette C8 ERay was shipped to us from Virginia to get a complete audio overhaul. We wanted to keep things pretty simple and efficient. We chose the Helix i7 series of speakers to easily integrate into the factory locations. We installed the i7 tweeters in the upper dash location, i7 midrange and midbass in the door locations.
We used a Helix V-Twelve DSP amplifier to run all the interior speakers active. This consisted of our front 3 ways and rear speakers as well as a preout to our Helix P-One amplifier that powered our Focal 10″ Utopia M subwoofer. We created a fiberglass enclosure to conceal the subwoofer in the passenger footwell. We designed and created a 3d printed pod to integrate our Helix Conductor right next to the factory display. This made it blend right into the OE design.
We utilized 3 seperate presets. Preset one controls the factory radio and all of its functions. Preset 2 controls our installed HEC BT chip which resides in the Helix V-Twelve DSP amplifier. This gives us the best possible audio out any BT capable device. Preset 3 uses an analog cable which connects our Astell & Kern SP3000.
The entire interior was removed and fully sound treated with a combination of Soundshield and Hushmat. The amplifiers were installed to be able to be quickly removed for service of the frunk. Quick disconnects and pull tabs were used to make this quick and effortless.
